Caritas Cambodia continues to deliver aids to People suffered by Flooding

Cooperating with Kampong Thom provincial Committee for Disaster Management (PCDM) and Cambodian Red Cross, Caritas Cambodia delivered humanitarian assistants to 927 families suffered by flood in Kampong Svay district on October 5.

 

 

The official death toll on October 5 stood at 167 and the inundation of rice field so far is  2910.13 hectares, said Cabinet Chief of the National Committee for Disaster Management Keo Vy, Dap-news reported yesterday.
According to the ministry of water resources and meteorology, water levels in the Mekong River, Tonle Sap lake and Bassac River will increase slightly in the upcoming days before dropping slowly in upstream provinces.
The delivering ceremony was presided over by H.E. Nhim Vannda , Senior Mininster, First Vice President of NCDM, Kampong Thom provincial governor, H.E. Chhon Chhoin, H.E. Nam Tum, chief of provincial council, Executive director of Caritas Cambodia, Mr. Kim Rattana and other provincial staffs.

Each family got 25kg of rice, one bottle of fish sauce, one bottle of soy sauce, 1kg of salt, 1kg of sugar, 1kg of soap, 1 piece of body soap, and 10 cans of canned fish from the Caritas’s aids.

Caritas Cambodia is now willing to continue delivering more aids to 430 of the most affected family caused by flood in Kampong Thom as it is the most affected province.
