Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction Training Workshop was co-organized by Caritas Cambodia and National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM) to strengthen the capability of the targeted group, staff, government’s official and other partners concerning the disaster risk reduction. This training workshop took place on January 26th-28th, 2011 at Caritas Cambodia office in Phnom Penh.

51 participants from Caritas Cambodia and its partners attended this 3-day training workshop. It was opened with the remark from Mr.Kim Rattana, Executive Director of Caritas Cambodia. Furthermore, it was presided over by H.E. Ponn Narith, Under Secretariat General of NCDM and finally closed by H.E. Nhim Vannda, Senior Minister, First Vice President of NCDM.

The presence of H.E. Khhon Sokha as a trainer was also very important. As a result, the participants learned a lot from this training workshop. All the participants have gained more knowledge and experiences regarding disaster preparedness and management, media management in disaster management, and absorbing mental health care in disaster management.

Last but not least, this 3-day Training Workshop has provided the participants the keys to response and rehabilitate after the disaster and the main idea or plan in reducing the disaster risks. Those have enhanced their capacity work more effectively and efficiently.
