Caritas Cambodia keeps on Helping Out People Afftected by Flood

250 people were killed by flash flood that injured 23 people, inundated 283,573 hectares (ha) of rice, 1,360 schools, 491 pagodas, and damaged 722 ha of rice seedling, according to the statistic of the National Committee on Disaster Management (NCDM) on 3rd November.

After helping out the victim with the emergency needs, Caritas Cambodia continues to provide rice seeds, vegetable seeds and agriculture support materials to the affected farmers.

So far Caritas Cambodia has provided rice seeds to 7,074 families in Kandal, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Prey Veng, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey and Svay Rieng province. Each family received 20 kg of rice seed. Moreover, 200 families in Svay Rieng province received vegetable seeds from Caritas.

Caritas is now planning to provide more assistance to those victims on livelihood, small scale infrastructure, health care support and capacity building.There are18 provinces affected by flood that broke out on September 9. So far Caritas Cambodia has delivered the humanitarian assistances to thousands of families in Kampong Thom, Kandal, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Siem Reap, and Preah Vihear , Battambang, and Banteay Meanchey province.
