Caritas Germany Delegates Visits Caritas Cambodia’s Programs

Delegates from Caritas Germany were on a six day visit from 28 of November to 3 December to Caritas Cambodia’s programs in Kandal, Siem Reap, Battambang province and Phnom Penh. Mr. Kim Rattana, Executive Director and staffs of Caritas Cambodia welcomed the delegates and proceeded with their field visit to six programs. The delegates were accompanied by Ms. Ung Kim Oan, Mr. Yem Makara and Mr. Moeun Rithy from Caritas Cambodia.

One the first day, they visited the Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Youth Development program in Kandal province. They had the opportunity to observe life in the community and see the traditional khmer dance. One the second day, the delegates were taken to Kandal and Tuol Sambo Integrated Development program where they could see the integrated farming system of farmers, animal raising, system of rice intensification, fertilizer group and nursery tree, Village Development Association (VDA), small saving schemes and job training for PLHIV.

The delegates were taken to Drop-in Center and three villages in Siem Reap province. They got the opportunity to interrelate with the people in the communities as a whole, including PLHIV, nurse, school teachers, students, volunteers and staffs of Caritas Cambodia about the program. One the last day of the three-day visit in Siem Reap province, they also had a glorious chance to visit the fantastic temples included Ta prohm, Elephant Terrace, Bayon and Angkor Wat temple.Before their return, the delegates were taken to meet Bishop. Enrique Figaredo Alvargonzalez, Chairman of Caritas Cambodia in Battambang province, where they took a glance at Arupe Center of disable people.
At the end, these delegates shared their observation with Caritas Cambodia’s staffs. They were pretty impressed and appreciated by Caritas’s work to help the poor in Cambodia.
